Study on the European Commission Inception Impact Assessments on Ecodesign and energy labelling

The IAI has scrutinised the European Commission Inception Impact Assessment on Ecodesign and energy labelling requirements for:

  • Computers

  • Lighting Products

  • Household Washing Machines and Washer-Driers

  • Household Dishwashers

  • Household Refrigerators 

 

The study, authored by Hugh de Lacy, Simon Godwin and Erik Akse, found that conclusions were prematurely drawn on the preferred policy option and that the assessment of preliminary impacts included significant shortcomings.

 
As part of the Institute's standard peer review process, scientific and factual comments on the content of the study are invited from stakeholders at any time to inform a potential revision.
